The concept of what the word illegal, as in illegal substances, implies has evidently escaped her. She was arrested for possession of cocaine in Las Vegas. This makes the 3rd time she has been arrested for substances in the past year, having been twice arrested for possessing marijuana.

Paris Hilton was evidently cruising the Las Vegas strip, driven by her boyfriend in an SUV. As outlined by the New York Post, a motorcycle cop smelled pot smoke coming from the car and pulled them over. As she was being searched, she asked the officer if she could retrieve some lip balm from her purse. Then, from out of her bag, fell a small baggie which appeared to have cocaine in it. Wrapping papers that could typically be used to roll marijuana cigarettes were also allegedly in her purse. The police arrested Hilton, and that’s when the Paris Hilton cocaine story began circulating.
Hilton could do some time
There were approximately .8 ounces of cocaine in the bag. This won’t just mean a fine. Hilton is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. The Cheech to her Chong, Harold to her Kumar, or Cy Waits only was booked on a misdemeanor charge of DUI. The baggie belonged to a friend who had borrowed the purse, according to Hilton. True to form, she Tweeted about it. Also true to form, her followers Tweeted their support for her. Hilton is also saying the search was improper, and she is expected to contest it at her trial. She can do real time for this. In Nevada, she could get up to $500,000 in fines and 2 to 15 years in prison.
A quiet night in is not at all likely
The socialite and heiress is no stranger to being arrested for illegal drugs. It is her third in as numerous months. She was arrested for possession of marijuana in July in South Africa, just after the 2010 World Cup. She was arrested again, days later, for the same crime in Corsica. Both times she was released. Nevertheless, the truth that she keeps getting busted for drugs counts against her. A judge is more likely to throw the book at her if she appears to have a history of drug use.
