Starting today, the 2009 Plutus Awards are accepting nominations. The Plutus Awards are designed to celebrate the best in personal finance. In this event, like the Oscars of personal finance, feature categories like Best Savings Account, Best Credit Card, and Best Mobile Personal Finance Application. Additionally, a large portion of the awards put focus on the blogging community, with categories that feature bloggers, like Best Frugality Blog, Best Taxes Blog, and Best Personal Finance Blog for Teens and College Students.
After the nominations are collected, a panel of bloggers will choose the finalists from among the nominations, and votes will re-open to the public in order to pick winners for each category. Each winner of the blogging set of awards will receive either $20.09 (in honor of the year 2009) from Consumerism Commentary or a larger award from a sponsor.
